Babes on the Bay is an annual women-only saltwater fishing tournament organized by Karol Scardino based in Rockport, Texas. Watch the snarky comment from the male news anchor in the video below regarding the anglers coming from “all over the country.” KiiiTV3.com South Texas, Corpus Christi, Coastal Bend Men…whether they’re avid fishermen or not…can scoff […]

As a result, the rigid military system of "good order and discipline" quite naturally responds to such medical symptoms of severe injuries in an adversarial mode of disciplining misconduct long before it recognizes the underlying injuries. By that time, the credibility of the chain-of-command is in play! Charges have often been pressed against the injured troops, and prosecutors and referring officers and NCO's are exceptionally reticent to "back down," even in light of compelling medical evidence and a never-ending series of "sensitivity training" programs.

I love kayak fishing for its “up close and personal” interaction with nature, but you gotta know what CAN happen and remain aware of your surroundings. Especially in saltwater, there are more efficient “fishermen” out there than we are…and they don’t carry a cooler full of sandwiches and snacks! Out there, we are NOT on […]

In Texas, even if not in the rest of the country anymore, this is how we honor our fallen heroes. Today, along 200 miles of rain-soaked cold winter highway, Texans of all walks of life stopped what they were doing and paused to honor the final passage of one of America’s most noteworthy war heroes […]

A colleague recently wrote of war veterans on his blog that "we owe much to those guys." We don't owe much to "those guys." We are the product of "those guys" past and will become the product of "those guys" present. We owe EVERYTHING to "those guys."
